It has a lighter flavor than Korean anchovy sauce. It's perfect not only for Thai cuisine, but also for light Korean dishes (like lightly seasoned dishes like stir-fried vegetables or cucumber soup).

jjajangmeun is one of my most favorite Korean dishes. This was about a close to the real homemade stuff I've tasted in a pre-packaged form. I did add some buldak sauce because I prefer a kick, but it's delicious just as is as well.
