The rice cake itself was very tasty. I like rice cake more than wheat cake, but it was hard to find rice cake, so it was good. The sauce was a bit sweet, but it wasn't bad.
When I crave for tteokbokki, I cook and eat Chilgap Nongsan Garaetteok tteokbokki. The tteok is soft and chewy, so it's very satisfying. My husband loves it!
The large garaetteok is really chewy and delicious.
It's not that the sauce itself is bland, but because the rice cakes are so big that the surface area that the sauce soaks into is relatively small, it feels bland (I think I should have cut the rice cakes into 2-3 pieces). The fish cakes that I bought separately and added were evenly seasoned and tasted much better. I'm not sure if I'd buy it again~

My husband wanted me to make him some tteok kkochi and tteokbokki and these were great. Just some of the rice cakes were a little cracked so when cooked they sort of fell apart.
