Product Description
Da Hong Pao 大红袍 is regarded as the "King of Tea" and a flagship of Wuyi rock tea. This Zhengyan 正岩 Da Hong Pao comes from Zhuke 竹窠, one of the most prestigious traditional core production areas in the Wuyi Mountain Scenic Area of Fujian, China. Zhuke is not only home to some of the original Da Hong Pao mother trees but also a symbol of tea culture and history. Located near Jiuqu Stream 九曲溪, Zhuke features steep terrain, encircling mountains, meandering streams, and mineral-rich weathered rock soil. These natural conditions are ideal for cultivating Wuyi rock tea, creating the tea's signature "rock essence and floral fragrance 岩骨花香.” It is said that Zhuke tea's exceptional quality earned it the status of tribute tea during the Ming and Qing dynasties, cherished by the imperial family and literati alike.
This Zhengyan Zhuke Da Hong Pao is crafted using traditional Wuyi rock tea methods, including withering, shaking, fixation, rolling, and charcoal roasting. The process emphasizes balancing fermentation and roasting to preserve the tea's freshness while enhancing the richness of its flavor. It is a treasure among Wuyi rock teas, reflecting both the natural brilliance of its origin and the artistry of traditional craftsmanship. Its complex taste and aroma make it a top choice for tea enthusiasts and a standout in the world of rock teas.
