Little pieces of the mallet fell out after hammering a few times. I would be careful drinking the coconut water, wouldn’t want to ingest it.

The verdict is still out on whether this is a good tool. After using once, the black rubber on the mallet is pretty chipped, to our dismay. We bought this to open the case of 9 Vietnamese coconuts, which are excellent.
