The Purple Butterfly Conservation Association invited the Tse-Xin Organic Agriculture Foundation to assist in promoting eco-friendly farming. By guiding farmers to reduce pesticide use and transition toward organic practices, both the land and the butterflies’ habitats are protected. To combat fruit flies, farmers once used pesticides, which harmed butterfly habitats and triggered a conflict between conservation and livelihoods.

Processing small, egg-sized mangoes by hand—peeling, seeding, and slicing—is labor-intensive. Yet, workers never gave up, driven by their desire to protect the butterflies.
