You're probably used to seeing wasabi on your sushi plate, but did you know it's not always real wasabi? Try the Hon Wasabi, the authentic Japanese wasabi. The majority of wasabi consumed in America comes in tubes and does not taste like "real" wasabi. Real wasabi has a milder, more subtle flavor. Many people have tried and failed to grow wasabi, which is one of the most difficult plants to grow. 

Recommendation for use:

Grate freshly harvested wasabi rhizomes into a fine powder, then set it aside to rest for a few seconds before using. It has a considerably milder heat than wasabi paste. To get the best results, start with a small serving then add bite-sized portions.

Do you eat Wagyu with Wasabi? '

When paired with sushi and sashimi, real Wasabi rhizome is a wonderful experience. But does it pair well with Wagyu? Yes, the answer is yes. The rich, marbled texture of Wagyu beef begs for lighter, more fresh flavors to complement it. Whereas a creamy or buttery Western sauce may weigh down or overpower a good piece of wagyu, wasabi's tang is a perfect match!
