This handmade, artisanal jam has a natural sweetness from brown rice, with no added sugar or sweeteners, which is combined with organic sesame and organic kinako (ground soybean flour) to give it a delectable, peanut butter-like taste. 

The secret ingredient is koji, a traditional Japanese fermenting microorganism that is used to create many Japanese foods including miso, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sake. It breaks down foods while enhancing flavors and is used here to draw out the natural sweetness from the starch in brown rice. 

Vegetable Park creates their handmade, organic products on their farm in Nose, just outside of Osaka. The farm is run by Ayumu and Emi Ueda and their adorable young children, who sustainably grow their products without the use of pesticides or chemicals. They share their love of agriculture with their community and encourage everyone to come and visit their farm to experience the harvest of the land.
