ZAKU carries this tradition forward, combining time-honored craftsmanship with modern design to deliver knives that offer outstanding cutting performance and easy maintenance.  


ZAKU Kagekiyo Santoku Knife:
The ZAKU Kagekiyo Santoku Knife is an all-purpose kitchen knife crafted with the refined techniques of traditional Sakai knife-making. Built by skilled artisans using the Sakai Uchihamono forging method, this knife reflects generations of craftsmanship and precision. Its balanced blade design makes it highly versatile, ideal for slicing meat, cutting fish, and chopping vegetables.

It features a high-performance Chromax Steel core that offers an ideal balance of sharpness and rust resistance. Over time, the blade develops a natural coloration, adding character and a unique appearance that reflects its use.

The blade is finished with a traditional Hamaguri, or “clam-shaped,” edge, named for its gently curved profile that reduces friction and resistance during cutting. This shape allows for smoother slicing and makes sharpening easier and more precise.

This knife is a dependable tool for a wide range of household cooking tasks, combining heritage, functionality, and sharp performance for everyday culinary use.
