Onigiri

Onigiri (お握り), also known as omusubi (お結び), or nigirimeshi (握り飯) is a Japanese rice ball wrapped in nori (seaweed). Traditionally, an onigiri is filled with pickled ume (umeboshi), salted salmon, katsuobushi, kombu, tarako, mentaiko, takanazuke (pickled takana) or any other salty or sour ingredient. Due to its popularity, onigiri has become a popular staple in restaurants and convenience stores throughout Japan


 

Kaya Toast

Kaya toast is a breakfast dish originating from Singapore, made with slices of toast, butter, and kaya (coconut jam). The sweet and savory dish is often served alongside coffee and soft-boiled eggs and a staple within Singapore’s kopi tiam (coffee shop) culture

 

Banchan

Banchan (반찬) is a collective name for small side dishes served along with cooked rice in Korean cuisine. The basic table setting for a meal usually consists of bap (밥, cooked rice), guk or tang (soup), gochujang or ganjang, jjigae, and kimchi. Banchan are set in the middle of the table to be shared. At the center of the table is the secondary main course, such as galbi or bulgogi, and a shared pot of jjigae. Bowls of cooked rice and guk (soup) are set individually. The more formal the meals are, the more banchan will be displayed
