Shimanto's "Sea Dashi - Bonito flakes" is a dashi soy sauce kit made with traditional bonito flakes from Tosashimizu, Kochi Prefecture. Bonito flakes have a richer flavor than real bonito, and are beloved by chefs as the "fragrant bonito, the flavor of bonito flakes." Simply add your own soy sauce and leave for approximately five days to create a rich, umami-packed dashi soy sauce. This economical product can be reused as an ingredient in fried rice or yakisoba after use. Store at room temperature and the shelf life is approximately 180 days. It can be used as a home dashi soy sauce for a wide variety of Japanese cuisine.
