Sesame oil is one of the hidden treasures of the Japanese pantry. It’s distinguished, nutty flavor is used in everything from stir frying earthy vegetables such as gobo to delicately dressing blanched spinach. 

For over 150 years, Iwai has been using traditional techniques to produce their sesame oil. Their sesame seeds are carefully roasted before being pressed twice. The first press produces the finest oil called ichiban shibori, followed by a second press which extracts the remaining oil. The oil is then filtered to remove any impurities. This genuine sesame oil is made from carefully selected withe sesame seeds giving it a light color finish. It is rich in flavor and aroma, with a nutty, caramel taste.

Genuine sesame oil with a light color finish, which is made by lightly roasting carefully selected white sesame seeds and squeezing them using the traditional oil extraction method.When cooked, it gives off a continuous aroma.It is ideal for fried foods, stir-fried foods, dressings, etc. as well as tempura.It is a traditional dish of Iwai's sesame oil.
