First time trying this nian gao. I bought the red bean and regular to try each. It is really big. I will try by frying the sides in a pan. If it comes out good, we will repurchase the item.

Yummy chewy soft glutinous rice texture after frying. Not too sweet, though lots of carbs. Mild red bean flavor with red beans throughout. Photo shows sliced and fried in a bit of oil.

Doesn’t have much flavor but the red bean version is better than the plain version.
