Honey-Chili Tuna with Mango Salsa Serves 4 This seared tuna dish is a breeze to make and is very light—a great summertime offering, especially with the colorful and tart but sweet mango salsa with a bit of a bite. Salsa ¾ cup canned Alphonso mango pulp, such as Ratna or Deep brand ¼ cup finely chopped red onion 1 tablespoon finely chopped red bell pepper 1 tablespoon finely chopped cilantro ½ teaspoon finely chopped fresh Thai green chili 2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice ½ teaspoon salt Tuna 1½ pounds tuna ¼ cup honey 2 teaspoons red chili flakes 1 teaspoon Ginger-Garlic Paste 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice 1 teaspoon salt ¼ cup canola oil Instructions MAKE THE SALSA: In a small bowl, combine the mango pulp, red onion, bell pepper, cilantro, green chili, lemon juice, and salt. Cover and refrigerate. PREPARE THE TUNA: Cut the piece of tuna into 12 fairly uniform pieces that are ½ inch thick and weigh roughly 2 ounces each. In a large bowl, coat the tuna slices well with the honey, chili flakes, ginger-garlic paste, lemon juice, and salt. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes. To serve, overlap three pieces of tuna down the center of a dinner plate and spoon ¼ cup salsa over them. Garnish with chopped cilantro.
