The Yishanmo (一扇磨, One Stone Mill) ancient tea garden is located deep within the primeval forests of the Yiwu 易武 tea region in Yunnan. Scattered tea trees grow harmoniously with nature in a pristine ecological environment rarely known to many. As a high-quality ancient tea area only recently discovered by tea connoisseurs, its production volume is much lower compared to other Yiwu tea areas. However, its unique forest terroir makes it a highly promising source of top-grade Yiwu ancient tree tea. The name "Yishanmo" is said to originate from villagers who once found a well-preserved ancient stone mill used for grinding soybeans in the abandoned tea garden, hence the name “One Stone Mill.”
This 2021 spring-picked Yishanmo ancient tree raw Pu’er tea is crafted using mature processing techniques and carefully selected tea buds from ancient trees. The liquor is uniquely smooth and soft, with a glutinous texture and rich layers. Compared to the 2017 version, this vintage delivers superior aroma and taste, making it a delightful surprise for tea lovers and a perfect reflection of the fusion of premium raw material and skilled craftsmanship.
The aroma features the typical floral fragrance of Yiwu teas, dominated by elegant gardenia notes intertwined with sweetness and a glutinous scent reminiscent of fresh corn silk. This unexpectedly calls to mind the rare Bai Jiguan 白鸡冠 cultivar from Wuyi rock tea. The tea liquor is mellow, stable, and long-lasting, with lingering floral and fruity notes in the aftertaste, revealing the profound depth unique to ancient tree teas. This is a quietly exquisite tea that invites repeated enjoyment, embodying a harmonious connection between nature and the soul.
