I really wanted to like these because I tend to enjoy items that remind me of Japanese Konbini or convenience store food. Pizza Buns like this are some of my favorite treats, but this one fell short of my expectations. I steamed them in my rice cooker for 20 minutes and they came out perfectly. The outer bun was very soft , but the filling did not look or taste like what was depicted on the label. It didn’t taste bad, but it was not very pizza-like at all. I added some chili crunch oil and it fine, but not the Konbini Pizza Bun I was hoping for.
These would be good for a quick meal for someone who needs to avoid overly spicy foods or for kids.
