Absolutely a solid piece of metal (and stone). The stone itself doesn’t feel rough or gritty but has a nice smooth surface which will retain a nice seasoning over time and use. The metal portion is not cheap and doesn’t feel like “tin or a soda can”. Super stoked about this purchase. Cant wait to see how our at home KBBQ turns out.
