Since it was a pack of four for that price, I was hopeful that they might actually be delicious.
They were individually wrapped and contained what appeared to be an oxygen absorber, and at this stage they were 5 stars for appearance. They were not exactly like real persimmons, but they looked cute and, more than anything, they had an appearance reminiscent of high-quality handmade Japanese sweets.
I immediately opened it and cut it into 4 pieces with a knife. (I don't have any pictures of that. It was 3 days ago. I was excited because it was my first order from weee , and I was tasting it right after opening it, so I never imagined I would be writing a review like this, so I don't have any pictures or videos of that time.)
The contrast between the outer skin and the stuffed persimmon inside was so good that I was looking forward to the taste, thinking, "It's just like Genchoan." I ate it right away. The texture was not bad. The sweetness was not cloying, but just right. I enjoyed it, but what on earth am I eating right now...? Yes, I am eating a Japanese persimmon-flavored sweet. Where is the persimmon? I threw away the outer box three days ago when I opened it, but the outer box of this Chinese-made sweet said "It tastes like persimmon" in a strange, unique Japanese font... (staring into the distance) I was lost in thought when I came back to my senses. I took a sip of green tea to reset my mouth and tried another bite. And finally, there it was, far away. The persimmon.
In the end, I only had a quarter of it and my husband ended up eating the whole thing.
This is just my personal opinion, but I want as many people as possible to share my feelings, so I recommend this product. It was great for me to be able to easily obtain and try these Chinese snacks, which I have never seen before, here in the United States. I would like to continue purchasing many Chinese and Korean foods, as well as Japanese ingredients, from Weee. Just browsing the Weee website is fun!!
