Childhood — surely everyone has run and played until their hands and feet were dirty, their clothes torn here and there, seams coming undone. At times like that, when we got home, Mom would scold us a little, but then you’d see her quietly sitting down to sew every stitch back by hand.
Even though I was little back then, for some reason I felt so deeply for Mom. Suddenly, I made a promise to myself to get her her own sewing machine so she wouldn’t have to work so hard anymore.
