Yummy! Crispy and has layers. So much easier to not make the shells.
These are more like the authentic Portuguese pastry tarts, not as delicate and flaky as the Chinese or Hong Kong style crust they use at the bakery and dimsum restaurants. They are still very delicious and buttery. I’ll purchase again but I will also try the other brands Weee offer.
My filling recipe (makes about a dozen): 1 cup of heavy cream, 1/3 cup of milk, 1/3 cup of powdered sugar or 1/2 cup of white sugar (use more if you like it sweet), 2 whole eggs, a pinch of salt, 2 drops of almond extract or vanilla, and cinnamon for dusting. Mix together and strain for a smooth texture. Pour in shells and bake for 400° for 20-25mins in a convection oven, then turn it to broil to create the brown skin for approx 5 mins (keep watch so it doesn’t burn). Let it cool for 20 mins, dust with cinnamon and enjoy. You can bake one tart first to test out the recipe and adjust to your liking.

It looks beautiful and the texture is nice but it really tastes strongly of margarine. I won't buy them again and will put something like jam on them to help hide the taste.
Read some good reviews. So I decided to try it out. I just put one dough in the instant pot on yogurt setting starting at 12 hours. I will see how it goes.
2.5 hours of defrosting (not 1h!), 1.5 fermentation, 20 min baking. But they turned out so beautifully!
Very easy and very tasty
Put in refrigerator over night, put in baking pan, leave it in preheated oven (turn the oven off )for over 2 hours, at least double the size, brush egg wash the bake it with 350 for 25 minutes. I like it soft so bake it with the dough covered most of the time, only took the cover off for the last 5 minutes, so the color not that great. Also, 6 inches round pan should be the best size, I only have 8 inches pan, little too big. Soft and fluffy! 👍👍👍
got the fam converted to buy frozen ones and proof them overnight and bake em in the morning! ur house will smell amazing! on the sweeter side but dont mind
