very good product

I wouldn't expect this bigger than I thought.

Looking forward to trying it

Very rich and well matured

Skeptical about the taste!

Looks good can’t wait for it to get ripped

Mami Fruit 1.7-2.2 lbs

Good quality

We let it ripen at room temperature for 6 days before eating (Recieved on Monday, opened on Sunday.) It gave slightly when pressed all over, slightly wrinkled. This was the best mamey I've ever eaten, but still not the very best it could be. My other experiences with mamey have been that they are inedible, never ripen fully and start fermenting before soft. This one actually started getting soft in a few days which I was excited it about. A lot of it was soft and edible, but there were still parts of it that were hard, starchy, bitter & astringent. Mostly some clumps near the peel or in the center around the pit. The parts that were soft were good, kind of creamy and mildly sweet. Just had to pick around the starchy hard parts. Overall, I am moderately happy with this purchase. Best I can really expect out of a mamey that's shipped. If I want an actual really good mamey I'd have to go to somewhere tropical where they grow and ripen more on the tree before being harvested. It might have been better if I waited 1 more day but I was afraid it would start to ferment so we opened it.

This fruit is native to Mexico. You have to wait until the skin is soft before you can cut it and eat it. It tastes a bit like sweet potato and a bit like pumpkin pie.
