I didn't really check reviews for the Yuntiao mooncakes I bought this time. I only saw that Lu Yangchun was a brand. Since I've always eaten Yuntiao mooncakes from other brands, I figured they wouldn't be a big deal. But the packaging was truly surprising! This was my first food packaging disappointment on Weee ! Other items might be loosely packaged, but since these are meant to be eaten right away, the paper box wasn't sealed, and neither was the plastic box inside. There were six mooncakes in the box, all different sizes, indicating they were handmade, not machine-made. They didn't seem to contain preservatives, so they're probably handmade mooncakes with a short shelf life. Since they contain ham, I baked them at 400 degrees for about six minutes. The filling tasted much better when eaten hot. The dry, fragrant ham filling is also genuine, and the crust is also very soft and crispy. If you enjoy this but don't want too many preservatives, this Yuntiao mooncake is worth a try. But weee and the merchants do need to improve the packaging. Even if they seal it with staplers or plastic wrap, or seal the box with tape, it will be much better!
