I love all forms of hawthorn candy. I saw this item when buying multiple types of hawthorn products. It seemed interesting, although the name "Jam Stick" did not match the name of any item I had purchased in the past. The name is a bit misleading. Inside was one slab of Hawthorn "jam". The "jam" is the consistency of jellied cranberry sauce and that is how I used it. I put it in a mushroom wine sauce I was serving over chicken, the same as I would have done with left over canned cranberry sauce. The sauce turned out very well, except it took a little more effort to melt than cranberry sauce. I like it better than canned cranberry sauce and could see using it every way I use cranberry sauce, such as mixed into chicken salad or spread on bread for a chicken or turkey sandwich.I was hoping for another form of hawthorn snack, but instead found an ingredient that I will use as a preferred substitute for canned cranberry sauce in poultry dishes.
