Moutai (aka Maotai) is the most popular spirit in China. This spirit was born over 500 years ago in Guizhou Province (Kweichow) and plays an important role in Chinese culture. It is the first choice of government officials and business elites to entertain their distinguished foreign comrades as well as domestic counterparts, and a symbol of friendship and a popular liquor at weddings. The bouquet is floral with dried dates and toasted rice hints. The palate is silky, spicy, and dry, yet smooth.
Kweichow Moutai is a Double Gold Medalist and won Best Baijiu at the 2014 San Francisco World Spirits Awards.
