Note: For easier transportation and storage, we have processed this tea into 6-gram dragon ball form this year.
Deep within Bulang Mountain 布朗山 lies a secret sloped tea garden known as "Flower-Scented Land 花香地” – Mijing Youlan (秘境幽兰, Secret Realm's Graceful Orchid). Its tea is harvested only once in spring, and the plants grow naturally throughout the year without fertilizer, pesticides, or pruning. The tea trees are rooted in soft soil interspersed with weathered stones, an exceptional environment that yields a pure aroma. The production of this tea is extremely scarce, with only a few dozen kilograms blended each year, making it a top-grade raw Pu'er tea nurtured by both nature and time.
The most prominent characteristic of Mijing Youlan is its rare and pronounced orchid fragrance, which infuses the water and lingers on the palate, with a sweet aftertaste and saliva production that is both rapid and enduring. Compared to most raw Pu'er teas, it is sweeter, smoother, and softer. Its aroma profile is similar to the most prized "White Crane Peak Orchid Fragrance" found in Xihu Longjing tea, yet it is exceptionally rare in a large-leaf varietal Pu'er tea. It not only possesses a floral scent but also carries the character of Lao Ban Zhang – a rich and assertive tea flavor. While initially bitter upon entry, it instantly melts away, revealing rich layers, leaving a lingering fragrance on the lips and teeth, and a continuous sweet aftertaste.
This tea redefines the standard for "good raw Pu'er." It embodies all the essential qualities of ancient tree tea: high aroma, thick infusion, honeyed charm, durability in brewing, and a reasonable price. If you were to choose only one raw Pu'er tea to treasure this year, Mijing Youlan would undoubtedly be the top choice. A single sip of this tea can leave you smiling with its aftertaste for an hour – it is a gift from the forest and a legend among orchid-scented teas.
