Description 

Demisaen Plum Red Pepper Paste Sauce

Chojang is a sweet and sour gochujang-based Korean concoction that is great as a sashimi sauce or a sauce to make bibimguksu or bibimbap.  But, it’s rather labor-intensive to make the sauce from scratch, chopping and adding ingredients into the gochujang.  So, here’s an outstanding and eco-friendly product from Demisaen of the sauce that is convenient to have on hand – the Plum Red Pepper Paste. It uses a gochujang made with pesticide-free plum, Korean chili powder, jocheong, and fermentation liquids.  It is a sweet-and-sour sauce that does well to bring out the original flavor of the main ingredients, avoiding going over the top despite having garlic, ginger, and sesame seeds in the recipe.

 

Pairing Ideas?

Use it as a sauce for various raw fish dishes (sashimi), bibimguksu, bibimbap, salads, jeon (Korean pancakes), fried foods, and meat dishes.
