Taitung Red Oolong Tea Bags

Description

The original home of Red Oolong Tea is in Lu Ye, Taitung. It is a deeply fermented tea developed by the Tea Research and Extension Station, Taitung Branch, based on the environmental characteristics of the high terraces in Lu Ye. The tea leaves used to produce Red Oolong are one bud with two leaves, handpicked by tea farmers. Due to the feeding of small green leafhoppers, the tea leaves naturally develop a honey-like fragrance. Therefore, Red Oolong Tea without added sugar allows you to savor the authentic and rich tea aroma, complemented by a natural sweetness.

The tea soup of Red Oolong presents an orange hue with a hint of red, and it slightly exhibits a deep amber color, vibrant and beautiful. The aroma carries hints of honey and fruit, with a sweet and mellow taste. The tea has a robust and mature fruity fragrance, providing a smooth and full-bodied flavor. Rich in activity and resistant to steeping, it releases a delightful aroma when served hot. When cold-brewed, its flavor and sweetness become even more pronounced.

Red Oolong: Is it black tea or oolong tea?

Whether it's black tea, oolong tea, or Red Oolong tea, they are all fermented teas. "Fermentation" is the essence and the source of flavor differences in tea. The raw materials for Red Oolong come from mid to low-altitude tea areas, where the tea leaves are fed upon by small green leafhoppers, resulting in a natural honey fragrance. The tea-making process combines the methods of Oolong tea and the fermentation technique of black tea. The tea soup exhibits an amber-orange-red color, offering a smooth and mellow taste. Red Oolong belongs to the category of heavily fermented and heavily roasted oolong tea.
