Xinhui Tangerine Peel is categorized into two types based on the cultivation of the tangerine trees: Circle Branch and Grafted Branch.
Circle Branch is an ancient propagation method of tea branch tangerines, producing tangerine peels with a glossy, oil-rich surface. Compared to Grafted Branch tangerines, Circle Branch tangerines contain about 5%-10% more flavonoids and polysaccharides. These additional taste-enhancing compounds give Circle Branch tangerines a sweeter flavor and a gentler nature.
Proper Brewing Method for Xinhui Tangerine Peel:
Step 1: Wake the Peel
Place a whole piece of tangerine peel in a cup, pour boiling water over it to remove any dust, ensuring the water covers the peel. Let it soak until softened.
Step 2: Boil the Peel
Pour 300ml of purified water into a pot and boil for about 5 minutes. Place the outer side of the peel facing down and the inner pith side facing up while boiling.
Step 3: Enjoy
Pour the boiled tangerine peel water into a cup and let it cool to around 80°C (176°F) before drinking.
