After you add and close the lid, it really gets hot and hot steam Will come out within a few seconds so be sure to keep out of small children and any idiots. The pickled vegetables sourness goes away as they get cooked so you won’t taste it. I added additional vegetable and cooked bamboo shoots that was bit too much to handle so I end up cooking more at the stovetop. My kids don’t like it but I like it.

Just yummy! Bought it again because it's that good and convenient! Brought it on our cold weather-beach vacation and it's perfect! Added some cooked shrimps, clams and peeled crawfish. placed them on top of the pickled veggies it came with: lotus roots, kelp, bamboo shoots and wood ear mushrooms. Spicy, szechuan flavors just like those in hot pot restaurants. Best of all, it heats by itself! Highly recommended for the spicy fiod lovers!
