Introduction to the Flower and Rose Zongzi of Yunnan Guanshengyuan for the Dragon Boat Festival
Selection of Raw Materials
• Roses: Selected are the moist roses from the self-owned flower base at an altitude of over 1,900 meters. After being hand-picked, high-quality rose petals are screened layer by layer.
• Glutinous Rice: Fresh and high-quality glutinous rice is used, with plump grains, providing a soft and glutinous texture for the zongzi.
Production Process
The first-picked flowers are harvested in the morning dew every day. After processes such as thermal fermentation, flower drying, and flower screening, large sweet petals are added to the filling. After the glutinous rice is soaked, it is paired with the processed rose petals in a certain proportion and wrapped in zongzi leaves, and then steamed through traditional techniques.
Taste and Flavor
When opening the zongzi, a strong fragrance of roses can be smelled. When eaten, it has a fresh and delicate taste. The fragrance of roses and the aroma of glutinous rice blend with each other, being sweet but not greasy. With every bite, you can feel the sweetness of the rose petals and the softness and glutinousness of the glutinous rice.
