Miaoli Small Farmers Cultivate Non-Toxic Chrysanthemums with No Pesticide Residues These non-toxic white chrysanthemums are cultivated by small farmers in Miaoli, and they belong to the "Bai Xue" variety. Each season, they pass non-toxic inspections, and during the drying process, no preservatives are added for freshness, unlike imported chrysanthemums which are sulfur-smoked to extend their shelf life. To prepare a comforting cup of chrysanthemum tea on a winter day, simply add 500ml of hot water and 20 chrysanthemum blossoms. You can also brew it with red dates to enhance its natural sweetness. These chrysanthemums come from Tungluo Township in Miaoli and are grown using non-toxic methods, passing inspections for pesticide residues. The harvesting process is labor-intensive and can only be done in good weather. Each blossom is as plump as a hydrangea. After harvesting, they are dried using hot air, without sulfur smoking or the addition of preservatives. During the drying process, the moisture in the chrysanthemums evaporates, turning each blossom into a small spherical shape. However, people with a constitution that tends to be cold and who are prone to diarrhea may not be suitable to consume excessive chrysanthemum tea.

White Chrysanthemum vs. Yellow Chrysanthemum? What's the Difference? Actually, "chrysanthemum" does not specifically refer to a single variety of chrysanthemum flower. Hangzhou was a major distribution center for chrysanthemum flowers at that time, where various types of chrysanthemums gathered for sale, so people collectively called them "chrysanthemum." The chrysanthemums commonly referred to as "chrysanthemum" come in white and yellow varieties. Generally, yellow chrysanthemums are used for medicinal purposes, while white chrysanthemums are used for making tea. To help distinguish Taiwanese chrysanthemums, two varieties have been named: "Bai Xue" for white blossoms and "Huang Jin Ju" for golden yellow blossoms.
