Making food from all

and affordable for all

Over a decade ago, Weee! embarked on a mission to transform e-commerce, catering to the underserved Asian community and pioneering social commerce.

2015

The birth of Weee!

“Weee!” was initially conceived from observing a trend in Chinese communities group-buying Pacific Cod on chat platforms. With a name meant to convey a sense of excitement and community, the company launched sayweee.com and mobile apps soon afterwards, inspiring community members to see our potential & invest.

Launched sayweee.com and iOS/Android app

Raised $1.3M seed round

2016

Laying the foundation

Our headquarters in Fremont established a place we could call home. This location was strategically chosen to conveniently connect Bay Area communities with authentic Asian groceries.

Secured $7.6M Series A funding

Received $35M valuation from Goodwater Capital investment

2017

The pivot that changed everything

In recognizing the limitations of group buying, we made a transformative shift to a grocery delivery model; prioritizing easy and affordable access to cherished foods for Chinese immigrant communities, fundamentally changing our trajectory and impact.

2018

Early growth and expansion

The quick success of the grocery delivery pivot led to weekly sales of half a million dollars. This success attracted the attention of our investors, who provided additional funding to support our expansion and enhance our services.

2019

Scaling new heights

Expanding beyond our home in the Bay Area, we launched our services in Seattle, opening our second major market.

Weekly sales doubled to $1M

$18M Series B round

2020

COVID-driven acceleration

During the pandemic, Weee! became a lifeline for Asian communities. Rapidly expanding to Los Angeles, New Jersey, and Houston, we added more products, and started delivering across the continental U.S., leading to a significant surge in growth. Our team grew to over 200 employees, all focused on reuniting people with the food they love.

5x year-over-year growth

200+ employees

$50M Series C round

2021

Diversifying and expanding

We introduced the world’s first multi-ethnic storefront experience to serve Vietnamese, Korean, Japanese, Filipino and Indian markets. Further expanding our reach, we opened our Chicago office and introduced nationwide mail-order delivery.

$315M Series D round

2022

Innovation and marketplace expansion

The launch of Global Marketplace added even more diverse products into our assortment and the acquisition of startup, Anycart, enhanced the digital shopping experience.

Weekly sales hit $10M

$425M Series E round

$800M total capital raised

2023

Strengthening operations and technology

Local marketplaces (Fulfilled by Weee!) and a TikTok shop are launched to further extend our reach. New automation systems are set up in La Mirada to boost operational efficiency and steps are taken to enhance data security, protecting customer information. By streamlining our decision-making processes, we achieved a positive contribution margin in the post-COVID era.

2024

Reaccelerating growth

We doubled down on our supply chain, ensuring our customers get the best quality products at prices that can't be beat. This strategy paid off, with growth accelerating to more than 40% year-over-year in the second half, making us the fastest growing grocery ecommerce company in the nation. Additionally, we launched “Weee! Business”, expanding into new B2B markets.

Launched Weee! Business

2025

A new era – Latin market expansion

Building on our success, we launched our second app, MásGusto, expanding into the Latino markets. This move diversified our offerings and broadened our multi-ethnic customer base, ushering in a new era of growth and cultural inclusivity.
