This wasn't the style of seasoned perilla leaves I was hoping for. Since it's served in the style of pickled perilla leaves, this type of side dish has a distinctive aroma. However, the seasoning has soaked in nicely, so it is quite palatable. Although the outside is coated with a lot of red chili powder, the seasoning inside is soy sauce-based. It tastes even better when wrapped around meat or fried rice.
