Taiken No. 9 Rice or Tainan No. 9 is short and round grain with crystal clear in appearance.  It is similar to Japan's Koshihikari rice and is popular in both the domestic Taiwan market and the Japanese market too.  This crop is sensitive to the wind and low temperature so it is harder to cultivate than regular Japonica rice crops.
