Color Me Yellow, Jeju Millet

Opening the lid to find exquisitely yellow steaming rice is sure to lighten up your mood.  Although millet is the smallest grain, it is by no means small in nutrition.  If it’s millet grown in Jeju under the fresh, clean sea breeze, you know you can count on its quality.  Jeju millet has a darker color and comes in uneven grain shapes compared to those from China.

√ Soaking the millet for about 20 minutes before adding it to the rice will give you beautifully yellow millet rice.

밥에 고운 노란 색을 입혀주는 제주 기장

밥 뚜껑을 열었는데 기장을 넣어 노란색이 참 고운 쌀밥이면 기분이 즐거워지죠.  곡류 중에서도 가장 작은 기장이지만 존재감이 커요.   기장이란 곡물은 항산화성분인 플라보노이드, 식이섬유, 비타민가 많아 노화를 예방하는 뷰티 푸드이기도 해요.  프롬제주의 제주기장은 제주의 해풍과 맑은 공기를 쐬고 자랐으니 그 품질을 믿을 수 있어요.   중국산보다 색이 진하며 알이 고르지 않은 특징을 가지고 있답니다.  

√  밥을 짓기 전,  20분 정도 물에 불린 후 밥을 하면 더욱 노란 색이 고운 기장 밥이 된답니다. 

Cooking Rice On Stovetop

We usually cook our rice (water about 3/4 to 1 inch higher than the rice/a little more water for brown rice) on the stovetop by bringing the rice to a boil without the lid. Once boiling, lower the heat and cover with the lid for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, turn off the heat and leave to the side for another 10 minutes.
