The Artistic Essence of Matcha

The matcha tea ceremony represents a profound artistic tradition, focusing on disciplines such as the tea ceremony, calligraphy, painting, flower arranging, incense rituals, and Zen. Matcha is a green tea powder, also known as "matcha", which originated in the Tang Dynasty. During the Song Dynasty, Zen masters introduced matcha to Japan, where it became integral to the tea ceremony. Matcha is traditionally prepared by whisking the powdered tea with hot water until it becomes frothy, using a special bamboo whisk. Finally, it is poured into each bowl and served to guests.

For over 500 years, bamboo has been used to create traditional Japanese tea whisks (chasen). Conventional metal whisks can sometimes impart a bitter taste to the tea. We maintain this tradition by crafting our authentic matcha tools from high-quality bamboo. Bamboo is harder than maple wood yet extremely lightweight, making it an ideal material for our matcha tools.

First wipe the bowl clean. Use the bamboo scoop, take two or three scoops of matcha powder and place them into the bowl.

Then pour the boiling water into the matcha bowl, mix the matcha powder and water with the whisk, and stir to create a fine and dense foam to taste the authentic matcha tea.

After enjoying the matcha tea, fill the matcha bowl with hot water, to clean whisk, and finally put it on the whisk holder to dry.

Matcha Bowl

Our matcha bowls are the perfect blend of decorative and functional. A great addition to the kitchen of any tea lover.

Bamboo Whisk

Made of a finely cut bamboo block, and made through four major processes of elaboration by hand to the best useful product, used to mix matcha. Its delicate, fine bristles are designed to create a smooth and frothy texture, ensuring the tea is properly mixed and aerated for a balanced and enjoyable flavor. The Bamboo Whisk is an essential tool that embodies the ceremony's emphasis on craftsmanship and the art of tea preparation.

Whisk Holder

In the Japanese tea ceremony, the whisk holder serves the purpose of storing and preserving the Bamboo Whisk when not in use. Its function is to maintain the shape and integrity of the delicate whisk's fine bristles, ensuring they remain in optimal condition for whisking matcha tea. By keeping the whisk in the holder, it also helps to protect it from damage and prolong its lifespan, reflecting the ceremony's attention to detail and respect for tea utensils.

Bamboo Scoop

In the Japanese tea ceremony, the Bamboo Scoop plays a crucial role in measuring powdered tea, such as matcha. Its primary function is to carefully scoop the appropriate amount of powdered tea into the tea bowl for the preparation of tea.

Scoop Holder

Put scoop on top, keep scoop clean, and don't leave it on the table with matcha powder on it.Keep our desk clean.

Matcha Powder Strainer
