I followed the directions on the package exactly but the soup tasted nothing like kimchi Jjigae. Not sure where I went wrong ㅠㅠ I will attempt again and update if anything changes.I followed the recipe exactly, but it didn't taste like kimchi stew at all, it just tasted like a strange, sour soup. This is my favorite Japanese hot pot base so far. It’s very flavorful and not really spicy. My only critique would be that I don’t think it’s “kimchi” flavored per se. It tastes more like miso with gochujung. It doesn’t have the sour taste one would expect from kimchi. It’s a good hot pot base, I just don’t think “kimchi” is the right descriptor.
