It was convenient and delicious, but when I wanted to buy it again, it was sold out.

These dashi stock tablets are umami bomb! Surprising good find and alternative to other anchovy/kelp or bonito only dashi coins. These have them too but with the grilled flying fish (ago/날치), it gives it a more depth yet still clean, less fishy savory broth. It's not overly salty, especially when other ingredients are added. There are 7 individually wrapped cubes in the bag and I find it more convenient than the hotpot broths in liquid bags. Made mille-feuille nabe but it will work well in any dish that requires dashi base soup.
It has a refined taste, but it was too bland for my taste, so I added a few things to it.
I buy this all the time as it's a family favorite!

Each 360-gram pack is divided into 4 small pieces (approximately 90 grams each), eliminating the hassle of cutting large pieces of base ingredients. Only the amount needed is cut, ensuring cleanliness, hygiene, and easy storage. The flavor is spicy, numbing, and rich, with distinct layers of taste. Besides hot pot, it's also perfect for making mala tang (spicy hot pot), maocai (Sichuan-style spicy stew), mala xiangguo (spicy stir-fry), or boiling water for fish.

It tastes good, but the packaging is still a bit hard to open, even though there's a tear corner.
Authentic Mala Tang taste... I don't use anything else.
