I’ve purchased Turbot Steaks many times. It always arrived packed in ice and frozen. This is one of the fish that my baby (dog) loves. I mostly purchase it for him. I’ve eaten it also, it an oily fish with soft flaky white flesh, and very delicious. There is a bit of bones to be removed. Here , I washed and seasoned with turmeric, rosemary and a little coconut oil. I cooked it for 15 mins @ 375 degrees in the toaster over. I removed the bones for my baby boy. It was gone in a wink of the eyes.

Perfect size of each one
When buying fish with only Japanese labels, sometimes you get something different from what you expected, but this is "silver cod" and there is no mistake. The head, innards, and tail fin have been removed, but it is chopped with the bones still attached. Four pieces came, one of which is quite close to the head and has little meat, but this can't be helped since it is sold by weight. I cut it all in half, put two pieces in each small ziplock bag for snacks, filled it with a mixture of miso, mirin, and sake, and froze it. I defrost it and grill it as needed. It's a hassle because it has bones, but I'll grill it in Saikyo style for now. It doesn't taste bad.
There were four beautiful fillets inside. I'm going to make it into a Saikyo-yaki.

After thawing in the refrigerator, steam it directly for 15 minutes, then add chopped green onions and heat the oil. Good ingredients are so simple, it's simply delicious, fresh, and of such high quality that the children finished it before I could take a photo.
