Bought this many times. It is hot. Just hot enough for really spicy lovers. Can also be diluted a bit by adding eggplant, squash and tofu.
I haven't tried it yet, but I think it would taste good stir-fried with tofu and Cheongyang peppers for a sweet flavor.

A little expensive but overall good
I bought this for the first time because it was on sale. I also bought a lot of eggplants at the same time, so I decided to use them instead of tofu and, for the first time, I made mapo eggplant . The "medium spicy" version wasn't spicy at all. I could imagine what it would taste like with tofu instead of eggplant, but it was a bit different from what I expected. It tasted like a brown sauce, similar to what you'd find in American Chinese cuisine. I think opinions will be divided depending on personal preference. Personally, I'd like to add garlic .
I mix this one with the mild to make it not too spicy. House Foods products are my go to.
Favorite mabo tofu sauce mixes! So easy to make a quick and delicious meal!
