I'm thinking about visiting a rice wine factory next time I visit Korea. I bought this rice wine kit and I can start a small workshop at home. It's easy to make, tastes good, and is fun.

They sell makgeolli kits! I bought them because they were interesting. But I like regular original makgeolli better, and this kit has three unique flavors, so that's a bit disappointing.

As soon as I got here, I decided to make it! I followed the instructions. I measured out 1L and when I drank it after 24 hours, it still tasted a bit watery and had a makgeolli flavor on the outside. So I left it at room temperature for a little over 12 hours and had it lightly for lunch, and it tasted much better. I think it would be better to let it mature for at least two days instead of one day and drink it with a little less water than 1L! The taste is not as good as real makgeolli, but it's not bad.
