Yuca Root

Also known as cassava, yuca root is dense and starchy like a potato. And who doesn't love a potato? Its peel happens to contain cyanide, so make sure to peel it. Once peeled, chopped, and boiled, you can remove the hard spine from the center. Now, it's all ready. Mash it, add it to soups, or even puree it for desserts. Crispy yuca fries, anyone?
