I had just run out and managed without dashi stock for about a month, but... I couldn't take it anymore! So I ordered some. I was reminded once again that it's an essential item for making Japanese food.
This pack contained two of these. I'm glad I could find them here since they weren't available at my local Asian supermarket.
The hondashi I always use came in perfect condition. The expiration date is so 2 years away as well!
I use this when making the viral enoki mushroom beef rolls and it really makes a difference if you use this or when you don’t. It’s also just nice to keep in the pantry when cooking certain dishes

I finally got it! It's in paste form, so it dissolves easily and is easy to use. It's rich in umami, so it makes a delicious soup on its own, but adding a little soy sauce or sesame oil makes it even more authentic Chinese soup I thickened it with potato starch, added beaten eggs, and made a delicious egg drop soup With this Ajinomoto, you can make any dish taste good.
