- Yes, it's anchovy - the kind I need to buy. This fish can be cooked in tomato soup, or fried with flour and eggs = perfect with rice.
- I had a craving for whitebait, so I bought some. I found about 1kg of it frozen, so I boiled it once to make it into boiled whitebait, then divided it into small portions and froze it. When I boiled it, I found two hairs and what appeared to be fish bones. As other reviewers have said, there were some impurities like twigs, but the hair was a surprise. My hair is red, but this hair looked black no matter how you looked at it, so it wasn't mine. Just for reference.
- There were a few impurities (things like branches, see the second photo), but I think it was good value for money. I made it into boiled whitebait and froze it.
- Doesn’t smell fishy, look great
- I tried making my own boiled whitebait! Thawed icefish (about 200g) and added it to 1.5 liters of water with 3 tablespoons of salt and brought to a boil! I like it half-cooked, so I stir it around, and when the transparent icefish turns whitish, I turn off the heat, drain it in a colander, and it's done! I had some freshly fried whitebait, and it was absolutely delicious. It's lower in salt than store-bought, healthy, and great value for money!
