This is NOT tamari despite the name the bottle. And it is certainly not “traditionally brewed”. Tamari by definition does not contain wheat. It is supposed to be only soybeans. This contains wheat and glucose. I do not understand why it is called tamari. Kikkoman should be ashamed of itself. I regret not reading the ingredients before buying it.

This is the best Tamari that I’ve tried. I used it with lots of whole garlic cloves to braise chicken or pork. I would add a tablespoon of garlic powder whenever I run out of fresh garlic. The flavor is deeper than soy sauce. This is very salty so I would not use too much.
