These cocktail grapefruits (also known as Mandelos) are absolutely delicious. I ordered a case last week and my family has already ordered 2 more cases. Despite what some other reviews say, the fruit that is more orange is not rotten or spoiled. Early in the season the fruits have a green peel and the flavor is more tart. As the season progresses, cooler winter temperatures cause the chlorophyll in the peel to break down and they begin turning orange. It's the same process that causes oranges to naturally turn orange. On the plus side, later in the season, the fruit gets sweeter due to being on the tree longer. If you need a green skin, it's best to order in December or early January.
Dried up, some are broken.
Golden yellow with an orange tint → will be sweeter. More green → will be more acidic.
I often repurchase these pomelos; they're sweet and juicy. The only downside is that they have many seeds, but that doesn't prevent me from buying them again.
