I received 9 fresh lemon plums in a 1.8-2.2 lb. I didn’t want my plum to ripe so fast, so I slowed down the process by putting it in my refrigerator upon arrival. It was in my fridge for 4 day before I took it out. It still tasted good. The skin was sour and the flesh was sweet and juicy. After I took it out of the fridge, I left it out for 3 more days and it turned red. The red color means that it’s very ripe. It tasted much sweeter when it’s red. Received several yellow firm plums and while I waited for them to ripen, they acquired a pink/red hue and, at that point, they were very delicious.
I tried Lemon Plum for the first time! The ones I bought were all yellow, likely not fully ripe, and tasted more tart than sweet. Anyway, dipping them in a bit of chili salt still makes them delicious.
Maybe because it was out of season, it wasn't juicy and sweet and sour, but it was in good condition. The color did change to red.
