The quality is better than average. Loves dried scallops due to the intense aroma. This is the Hokkaido variety. Very easy to rehydrate. Loves using it when I make sticky rice. Will rehydrate in just a few hours. Great to added to congee. Then it is better to rehydrate it overnight or eight hours or so.

After frying, this scallop is as tough as rubber and hard to chew! It is much worse than another brand I usually buy. I don’t know if it is because the manufacturer has frozen it for too long or it is a quality problem.

Don't buy it, it's fake or super poor quality! Like others states, it's rubbery and not even sashimi grade. I thought they were wild from Japan but it's processed in CHINA hence the uniformity, which makes it even more suspicious.
Don’t buy these. Though they smelled fresh, it was tough and not sashimi grade. I tried searing and it just ended up rubbery. Don’t be fooled!
It's so old! It's not the same thing as Pacific Surf Sea Scallop. This one is dark in color, oval in shape, and the meat is very old after frying, so old that it's like rubber!
