I've bought young ginger four or five times recently, and only once was the quality up to standard. Every time, the ginger was so old and cracked.
This is clearly old ginger, not young ginger at all.
I've bought young ginger three times recently, and twice of those times I've had a bad experience. It was already dry and old when I received it, with peeling and cracks.
