Yuasa Shoyu’s curry from Wakayama Prefecture includes a unique local ingredient from Japan: yuasa eggplant. Unlike other eggplants, which can be bland and almost flavorless, yuasa eggplants have a natural sweetness and bright, fruity flavor. And instead of the usual spongy texture, yuasa eggplants are silky smooth with a texture as soft as butter. 

Yuasa Shoyu balances the natural sweetness of the eggplant with a blend of spices including ginger, coriander, cardamom, and cumin, giving this curry a rich, sweet, and savory flavor. Comforting served over a warm bowl of rice, Yuasa Shoyu claims that if you eat their curry just once, you will want to keep coming back to it again and again!

How to prepare: Stovetop directions: Put the still sealed pouch into a pot of boiling water and warm for 5-7 mins.Microwave directions: Pour the contents of the pouch into a microwave safe bowl, cover, and microwave at 500W for 2 mins. Serve hot over a bowl of rice.
