The taste of the roots when they are small is almost the same, 80% similar.

Recalling my childhood, it wasn’t very delicious, a bit sticky, and I didn’t dare to eat the candy man 😆😆

The inside is broken into pieces, but it doesn't affect eating. It's just as sticky as I remember 🤣

Although I know it's all sugar, I still want to try it. The expiration date is around 8/20. Some of them broke into pieces. I broke off a small corner and ate it. It feels like it can be eaten for a long time. I guess it's better to give two packs away quickly.

Description

The malt sugar melon of Hanji Town in Cao County has a history of over 600 years, with the most famous ones produced by the Liu Yongchao family in Daliu Village, which has been passing down the craft for 26 generations. The production process is meticulous, using high-quality rice and malt as the main ingredients. It involves three main steps: soaking barley to sprout and make malt juice, fermenting cooked rice with the malt juice to create syrup, and finally shaping the syrup into small melon-shaped pieces. The sugar melon is known for its 65 small holes, giving it a crispy, chewy texture and a sweet, fragrant taste. Malt sugar melon is not only a traditional delicacy of Cao County but also a symbol of local culture and life. The Liu family insists on handmade production, preserving this ancient skill to prevent it from being lost in modern times. The process is short but labor-intensive, and very few young people are willing to learn the craft. The continuation of this tradition reflects a deep respect for cultural heritage and craftsmanship.
